A smallpox pandemic spreads on Black Friday (transmitted by a virus planted onto banknotes), and sweeps through cities across the U.S. The United States Government collapses in five days; basic services fail and without access to food or water, the country quickly descends into chaos.[9]

The player is part of the Strategic Homeland Division (SHD), or "The Division" for short - a classified stay-behind force of self-supported tactical agents. Leading seemingly ordinary lives, SHD agents are trained to operate independently of command when all else fails. This group is established to combat the threat brought about by the outbreak and are given direct authority by the President of the United States to do whatever it takes to prevent the fall of society and piece the city back together. Throughout the game, the agents will find themselves caught in a worldwide conspiracy and will be forced to combat both the threats of the virus as well as those who unleashed it.

Played the beta all this morning. Its basically starts you off at the same place the alpha did. the graphics are sharper, i don't really know or care about the techicnal stuff but the game is pretty. the first mission has you getting your base of operations up and running by rescuing a doctor that is being held hostage in madison square garden. after that you're done with story mission but you are now able to upgrade the medical wing in the base.

went to dark zone and i started out good. but some other players when went rogue while waiting for an extraction. so while i was defending myself from rogue players, i accidentally killed and non rogue player, which in turn made me rogue. then a bounty was put on my head and it just went down him from there but in a good way.

the game is fun. my only issue is mission varied. ubisoft has a habit of having the same type of missions over and over and over again. i'm not saying every last mission has to be different but there needs to be a difference in them. if that makes sense. this morning i looked for a missing sister, turned water back (which took me underground), rescued some hostages (twice), uploaded virus info (twice). there are also random encounters with factions and civilians. which are total optional. but of course if you can take the baddies, you get xp. same with the civilians. after you make sure they arent a threat, (the game did this on its on) some civilians will approach you and ask for items, food or med kits. the food you find in loot, the medkits are your medkits. so if you give them one, you lose one. and you start the game out with two. i'm at three now. but if you give the item to the civilian, they'll give you xp and a different item, so its kinda like your bartering.

also explore, explore and explore. for someone who is there trying to put new york back together you steal alot of crap. if a building is open, go in and search, go try every door. climb up ladders, go onto rooftops. look every for look, closets, fridges, bags. things will be highligted for you but you still got to look for them. and by loot i mean: weapons, mods, armor, clothing, medkits, and food.

and of course with this being a ubisoft game there are collectibles. there are phone recordings, downed drones, missing agent intel, echos, and i think two or three more.

the closed beta has be extended for one more day. so the last day is MONDAY. there are rumors of an open beta at the end of the month, but as of right now, its just a rumor

02-12-2016, 01:56 PM
the open beta runs from feb 19-21. dont know if i'm going to play it though. i was in the alpha and the close beta. i know the opening by heart. the game releases march 8, i can wait

i told myself i wasnt going to play the open beta but i lied. anyway, the new mission with the cleaners opens up the tech wing of the base and it is AWESOME. i was playing alone and on normal but it was hard and creepy and tough and just awesome. i really have high hopes for this game. again people the open beta starts today for x1 and tomorrow for ps4 and pc. i would suggest everyone give it a try. also if you play the beta, you're suppose to get some kind of ingame item for the real game.

Last night,I saw a post on Twitter saying you have to stand in a queue before you can talk to NPCs.

Last night,I saw a post on Twitter saying you have to stand in a queue before you can talk to NPCs.

Let the realism jokes begin

Hmmmm......didn't happened to me last night. And I was in a party. The only problem I had was I got dropped from the server when I joined a party, but I was able to log right back in. There was also a little lag during one firefight. Other then that game was a blast. I have minor complaints about the customizations for characters. I can understand this isn't a full blown rpg but the choices were so simple. Only two color choices for blacks, and let's not even talk about hair choices: all short.

I can say that Ubisoft has increased the difficulty since the beta. I was running through enemies in the beta, not really planning things out. Not in the game. These enemies are way tougher.

03-14-2016, 11:17 AM
so i'm a good 15-20 hours in, level 14ish. got some decent weapons and armor. and apparently you can mod everything and/or have it recalibrated, which is nice. i have yet to go to the dark zone, i'm still scared from the beta.

the game has also got me paranoid. my boss started coughing and i slowly backed up. lol, not a good thing to do at work.

03-16-2016, 10:58 AM
between the rikers, the cleaners, the LMB,and apperanltly rogue agents, i've died way to many time. maybe is should stop trying to slow the game....but sometimes i hate people ;)

03-25-2016, 12:52 PM
as i continue to play this, the info that pops up when you find echos remind me of the info that popped up when selected a person in watch dogs.

03-30-2016, 02:50 PM
so i finished the single player part of the game. but i havent collected all the items yet. as the start of a new series, it was a solid beginning. now i have to see how the end missions are.

04-01-2016, 12:10 PM
finished my base this morning. but still havent don't any of the daily missions. don't really know why. i also havent found all the safe houses either. the one i'm at now is ubisoft's new york offices, which i a nice easter egg.

It was a ton of fun... I felt like a whimp though, lol

the division got its major update today. nothing major changes until you reach level 30. until then you can trade items with your group members but only for one hour and only with the folks that were in that group. after you reach level 30 all sorts of goodies come in to play. i'm not going to go into detail about all of them but the one that sorta irks me is the gear score. before you had to juggle DPS, health, and skill level, now they have added in gear score for all items over level 30. your gear score is an avg of all the scores of your gear. so of course my gear score is law because i don't play dark zone nor have i done any daily missions. when i started it was at 89. the highest i saw was 179. by the time i finished this morning, i was at 99. but again you have to way your choices against the other skills because if any item has a high DPS and gear score, it will drop your skill and health like a rock.

the first time in my and ubisoft history, i have collected all the collectibles in this game. there are 293 of them and i got them all. i'm so proud of myself.

05-24-2016, 02:56 PM
the new update is live. here are some of the changes

the new Incursion is called Clear Sky, and it is set in Columbus Circle. You must be level 30 to attempt the raid, which is designed for four players. Hard mode is available now, but Challenge mode isn't coming until later.

As for the new PvE content, there are now High-Level Targets to take out, as well as Search and Destroy missions. The new "hijack" feature for the Dark Zone changes things up by allowing players to cut the extraction rope, causing all the loot to spill on the ground, spoiling other players' extraction attempts.

The update also changes the loot system to be more generous--players can now expect better loot quantity and quality. Additionally, a number of bugs are being fixed with the update, including one that involved players falling through the map in Brooklyn.

05-25-2016, 04:34 PM
omg, the new update is AWESOME. love the new daily targets, makes it so much easier to get high end gear. the three targets i took down this morning got me three new green pieces. i would highly recommend folks to jump back in.

08-25-2016, 12:09 PM
so i've gotten back into the division. even made a new character to start over and experience all the new new with. still having a blast with it.

The Division has been out for almost six months, and what an incredible half year it’s been! Through regular game updates, a first expansion and weekly patches, we have put a lot of energy into constantly improving the game. While these efforts have allowed us to bring more gameplay variety, the overall experience has been affected by lingering issues that have accumulated since release.

With Update 1.4 in the works, it has become clear with your feedback and our own observations that our priority should now be on improving the core gameplay experience. For this reason, we have made several adjustments to our development schedule: Update 1.4 will be released in October independently from Survival, and will focus entirely on bug fixing, game balancing and other improvements. Survival, the second expansion that was initially planned for release with Update 1.4 is now postponed to a later date this year. The third expansion, Last Stand, will be released in early 2017. This new schedule will not only enable us to strengthen the core experience before adding new content, but also continuously improve it by allowing for more production time to ensure the quality of future updates as well.

Our focus for update 1.4 and beyond will be on the following:

Fixing bugs, including those listed in our Known Issues as well as many other ones
Making loot drops more relevant to the player
Enemy difficulty and time to kill
Gear Sets and weapons balancing
Solo player experience
Dark Zone and PvP balancing
Quality of life additions based on community suggestions (such as weapon skins no longer taking inventory space)
This ongoing effort will begin with Update 1.4 where we will address some of the most pressing issues, such as bugs, loot and time to kill and set the foundations for future improvements such as PvP and Dark Zone. We will make sure to keep you informed of our progress in our weekly State of the Game, and share the complete overview of the changes to come in Update 1.4 in a Special Report livestream on September 13th.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you, our community, for being so openly passionate about the game. Our passion is what unites us and allows us to build a better game together! We remain committed to delivering the best experience possible, and will constantly be looking for your feedback as we shape the future of The Division.

Stay awesome, The Division Team
