Re: The Official Dragon Age: Origins Thread

I ordered It from amazon early this month. I didn't see a release date shipping like with some games. Amazon doesn't offer release date shipping on all games. You could try One-Day Shipping and see if you can get it on release day.

Amazon is known for shipping their content early. Been times you would get games or movie before the store would even get it.

Re: The Official Dragon Age: Origins Thread

Changed mine from Free shipping to Two Day shipping. Sad thing about it is, It's about the same price I would pay if I picked it up from GameStop. Sales tax is a bit ridiculous in the City.

If my gamestop was closer to my house I would pay less since sales tax where I live is less than the city's sales tax.

So I'm f'ked when it comes to the collectors on 360? I went to it and they said no dice for 360 so I'm like cool. I'll take the PS3 version but get this... that SOB wont come out for another 2 to 3 weeks after the 360 version. This tells me its gonna suck with all types of glitches and framerate issues because they must of had trouble developing it for the PS3. Man I am an ass and it sucks to be me.

<div class="bbcode_quote_head">Quote:</div>
<div class="bbcode_quote_body">With Dragon Age: Origins' November 3 launch less than a month away, developer BioWare has unveiled its initial downloadable content plans for the game. Unlike with the role-playing game developer's previous project, the acclaimed sci-fi adventure Mass Effect, players won't have to wait long to expand the upcoming dark fantasy.

They won't have to wait at all, in fact.

BioWare today announced that Dragon Age: Origins will get its first downloadable expansion on day one. Called the Warden's Keep, the DLC will add a dungeon-based quest to the game along with six new abilities, a variety of items, and a base where players can trade with merchants. It will feature a supernatural storyline set in an ancient--and possibly haunted--fortress once used as a redoubt by the Grey Wardens, the ancient order at the center of Origins' main storyline. (A magic suit of Grey Warden armor will be one of the items in the add-on.)

The Warden's Keep will be available for MSP 560 ($7) on Xbox Live Marketplace and $7 on the PC on November 3. It will cost the same price on the PlayStation Store when the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Age goes on sale later in November. It is not included with the regular or Collector's Edition of Dragon Age: Origins, although it is included in the Deluxe Digital Edition offered by online retailers</div>

<div class="bbcode_quote_body">Good news, PlayStation 3 (http://kotaku.com/tag/playstation3/) owners. BioWare has officially—for real this time—confirmed the release date for Dragon Age: Origins (http://kotaku.com/tag/dragonageorigins/) for the console that you bought, un-delaying (http://kotaku.com/5333098/bioware-confirms-dragon-age-origins-delay) the PS3 version for a November 3 ship date in North America. That's not only two weeks earlier than previously planned, it's the same day the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Dragon Age: Origins arrive on these shores. The date was just confirmed by BioWare's Ray Muzyka on the PlayStation.blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/10/dragon-age-origins-live-chat-with-bioware-today/). And yes, that does qualify as an exciting announcement (http://kotaku.com/5388015/bioware-has-an-exciting-announcement-about-dragon-age-for-ps3).

Muzyka says they're "still working" on the European release date for the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Age, saying that BioWare will "have an announcement on that shortly - still planned for some time a bit later in November."

While we did venture that BioWare was planning on dropping the widely distributed November 17 release date in favor of an earlier release, it doesn't appear that our guess (http://kotaku.com/5388015/bioware-has-an-exciting-announcement-about-dragon-age-for-ps3) for a PlayStation Home space was accurate. Muzyka said that the company is "exploring it" but has nothing to announce.</div>

Re: The Official Dragon Age: Origins Thread

IGN AU - 8.4

Presentation - 8.0

Loads of menus, a reference library of stories, maps and quest logs, plus an interface that mostly keeps the HUD uncluttered. Those portraits need to be pushed to the edge of the screen, though.

Graphics - 7.5

Missing the polish and quality of recent RPG heavies, Dragon Age: Origins ...well, has a great personality but isn't going to win any beauty pageants. Has its moments, though - just often enough.

Sound - 7.5

A lovely score, but like the graphics, the environmental audio is lacking and voice acting is mixed.

Gameplay - 9.0

This is where Dragon Age: Origins was always going to shine. Fortunately, the RPG gameplay is as solid as ever, as deep as could be hoped for and, honestly, a bit rehashed in some respects.

Lasting Appeal - 9.0

Still, with six fairly unique branching storylines and dozens of hours of gameplay in each, this is a massive RPG that will eat your weekend and spit out your red eyes.

I do like the fact that they stay for a time. If any one has any spare codes or anything of that nature please holla at me. This game is awesome. I do wish you character voiced his/her words and it seems to be missing some classes. I 'm sure there will be a class or two as well another origin in the future.

On the fence about the $7 dlc. Might wait to finish the game before I get that one. Anyone else have an impression.

ok finally at a part where i can get all of the dlc items, cause you just cant get them at the beginning of the game, you have to wait till you find the right merchant. so after you find the merchant and buy the items you still cant use them till you reach a certain skill level. i need to have 38 strength to wear just the plate part of it, because of course it is broken up into different parts and i cant wear any of it yet.

also i would suggest everyone do the warden's keep. after you beat it, you can store items there and it has a smity that can make an item for you, but i think the item is different depending on what you are. i'm a rogue and i got a choice of a longsword or two-handed weapon. i choose the longsword and it is bad ass.

nope not a dumb question, cause i was wondering to. but when you start the game, you only have 1 piece of the armor (the chestplate i think), when you make it to your party camp (after your origin story, after a major spoiler), there is a dwarf selling all of the dlc items. you have to buy the rest of the pieces from him. yes, buy them from him. and just cause you bought them still doesnt mean you can use them. you skill level still has to be high enough.

And according to an unidentified retailer listing spotted by Eurogamer.cz (http://www.eurogamer.cz/articles/odhaleni-datadisku-k-dragon-age), the first of those expansions, titled Awakening, will supposedly arrive in Europe on March 19.

According to Eurogamer's summary (http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&amp;prev=_t&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;layout=1&amp;eotf=1&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.eurogamer.cz% 2Farticles%2Fodhaleni-datadisku-k-dragon-age&amp;sl=cs&amp;tl=en), the expansion will star a new player character with a new origin story, new areas and enemies, for about 15 hours of new content. The expansion will require dragon age: Origins and will cost $39.99.

Set after the events of dragon age: Origins in the land of amaranthine, players will take on the role of a grey warden trying to rebuild the order of legendary warriors. Along with this monumental task, players will have to discover new secrets of the darkspawn menace as well as face off against deadly new threats such as the inferno golem, spectral dragon and a mysterious foe that calls itself the "architect." fortunately, awakening raises the level cap of the game, and provides new abilities, spells, specializations and items for players to acquire.

players will also have the option to import and revise their characters from dragon age: Origins, expanding on the customization of their heroes. Players can also choose to create a brand new grey warden from the land of orlais. Five new party members will also be available for players to recruit and add to their band of adventurers.

according to bioware co-founder dr. Ray muzyka, "dragon age: Origins – awakening shows bioware's commitment to our fans by delivering new story-driven experiences which enrich the dark heroic fantasy universe our fans have come to know and love. The vibrant worldwide community of dragon age fans will relish uncovering the secret motivations of the darkspawn, revealing how the darkspawn continue to infest the world despite the defeat of the archdemon."</div>

Has BioWare commented on Importing you character. Do all your decision carry over(like ME 2)? or just your character transfer over &amp; none of your decisions matter?

It looks like the True ending &amp; Decision are:

- Romance with Leiliana

- Travel with Leilana &amp; Zervan (assassin)

- Pick Danish &amp; Mage

- Didn't side with the Dawes Prince

- Only took a Pinch of the Ash &amp; didn't pour Blood in

why would the the romance with leiliana be the right one? i always figured it would be morrigan the way the always put her out front.

^ Mage is boring. Never could play as one. I have one Rogue &amp; one Warrior.

PS. I really hate Dragons in this game. Their is a real cheap way to beat the arch Demon in the game.

This matches up with electronic arts (http://games.ign.com/objects/025/025025.html)' fiscal 2011 lineup (http://pc.ign.com/articles/106/1067668p1.html) of titles, which said a new dragon age game is shipping in the company's 4th quarter beginning on january 1, 2011 and ending on march 31.

It seems you will only get cameo appearances from Alistair, Wynne, and Loghain. Leliana Voice actress did not return to do her voice. Rest of your team is in other parts of the world during awakening.

Morrigan is being saved for DA 2 or Next Expansion Pack.

Then they don't appear. It's like Conrad in Mass Effect. If you complete all the steps to his Quests. He will show up in Mass Effect 2. If you don't he will never appear.

Once you import your character to Awakening. You can not return to Origins &amp; finish up unfinished quests or gather more loot. If you have a memoery card, I suggest coping the data over just in-case you want to return to Origins.

If your character is using any DLC armor. Remove it from in Dragon Age Origins &amp; put some temporary armor on or your going to get a Cutscene with your character walking in hisher underwear.

As you can guess Blood Armor does not transfer over.

Over 50% of my gear is gone. From my Legion Armor (non DLC) to my powerful Sword &amp; shield. I only had one set of armor &amp; was forced to take mhairi armor. You would think if it works in Origins it should work in awakening. Bad job on Bioware part not allowing everything to transfer over. Really wished your decision would have carried over in the expansion. Make DA 2 your decisions will carry over like ME1-ME2.

Also kind of annoyed that mhairi died so fast. Really liked her. I thought they were setting her up to be a Commander once you left the lands.

They introduced oghren way to fast &amp; cheaply. Really wished they brought back leliana back instead.

Anyone have any ideas on the insert that came with the Disc(DA2 or Next Expansion). I going with Expansion. Seems to soon for Dragon Age 2.

It's more Dragon age. Wish atlease one character from Origins(other than Oghren) would show up, even if they don't have any dialog.

If your love interest in Morrigan. She will be mention in the ending. However you have to jump tough a million hoops for it to happen.

- Have to have her ring on you at all times

- Must be wearing the ring in Origins from the time she gives it to you.

- Must be wearing the entire time in the expansion.

I miss having Leliana in my party. Hopefully she will return in the next expansion.

Kotakuite Alexander pointed us to the countdown clock that's now ticking down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until Monday morning at noon Eastern time, 9AM Pacific across most of BioWare's current web presence. I say most, because while the timer is indeed on BioWare's main (http://www.bioware.com/), Mass Effect, and Dragon Age pages, it does not appear on the page for Star Wars: The Old Republic, which leads me to believe the reveal has nothing to do with that game in particular.

With the Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack was recently released, and Mass Effect 2's Kasumi downloadable content coming in April, what could the developer possibly have up its sleeve for Monday, March 29? A new game? More downloadable content? A version of Mass Effect 2 that isn't for the Xbox 360 or PC?

It's time for rampant speculation. You folks know what to do.</div>

No, Anora Being Queen is correct Choice. You Basically have to threaten Alistar to become King.

Nothing happens if you have a Female Character. If you married Anora(Male-Human Noble Only) only difference is she greets you are her Husband instead of just a Warden.
<hr class="bbcode_rule" />
Some Items to carry over. 99% of DLC doesn't carry over. They give you bucket loads of money very early in the game. Once you head to the blackmash. You get some amazing Armor(if you have high Strength)

Another glitch I ran into(origins). I made The Ultimate Sacrifice however I didn't get the achievement. Before the war I said I didn't want to kill my self over it. Dunno if that had anything to do with it or not.

who had the finally blow to the dragon? from my understanding, as long as the person was a warden you got the achievement.

Not how that works. Theirs a dialog that happens after dragon goes down. you &amp; Alistar decide who makes the final blow. I made it.

Beat Awakening. 15 to 20 Hour experience.

- Some reason I couldn't do the joining with Sigirus(sp?the new dwarf). My only options were go to war or I have other things to do first.

- The most powerful sword you get in the expansion you lose(if theirs a 2nd expansion no sword). In the epilogue. Sword becomes that of legend.

- If you romanced Leliana. It says you return to her. Which is a nice touch.

- If you romanced Morrigan &amp; still have her ring, says you go searching for her.

who knows. Getting close to all 1145 achievements for the game. Still wonder what I have to do to recruit Anora's Father(name is escaping me atm). I always have to fight him.

Did get to level 32 in Awakening. For new comers to the expansion to complete all the Side Quests you need to have a Rune master &amp; a Herb Master.
